Thomas....Ooooo...Thomas....

I think I'v
e been watching too much of Thomas & Friends lately that I find myself humming to the theme song every now and then thanks to Haziq (ooo and I'm this close to memorising the whole song too) . He now wants to watch Thomas & Friends 24-7. If there's no Thomas & Friends showing, Bob The Builder will do. He loves Scoop the tractor, "atte" is how he says it. Barney? Nope...Pocoyo? Nope. He's not all fascinated with the latter. Sesame Street, yes. The movie The Cars, a big yes. He can sit there for a long time with jaw drop watching The Cars. He pronounce it "tar". I told Hubby we need to get the DVD because Haziq gets upset when they stop for a commercial break in the middle of The Car. Duuhhhh...

Down The Memory Lane?

I was blog-hopping just now and bumped into a blog where the owner was telling the stories of her school teachers. The ones that she still remember till today. Then it got me trying to recollect most if not all of my school days memories.

let's see..

I remember my Maths teacher in Standard 2 (I think) who was so fierce that she likes to throw our buku latihan out of the classroom. I can't really remember whether my book was also one of the many books that got thrown or not but I remember books flying here and there. Heh!

Then in Standard 4 I remember my class teacher, Puan Zarilah. A very pretty lady, softspoken and has a handwriting that makes you feel yours is like cakar ayam. So much that she wants her students to follow her footsteps in writing nicely that she made us do cursive (ok..cmner spelling ni???) almost everyday. Heh. Thanks to her I today I have a nice handwriting but it depends on my mood. Cik gu Zarilah..I *heart* you.

In the same year there was a cikgu latihan name Cikgu Azran who became more like an Abang to us (read: me and my friends). He loves to create nice bookmarks and give them to his students. We were so close back then that on Saturdays for our Ko-ko he would cycle to school with us. And yours trully membonceng his bicycle coz I was the only one yg tkd beskal. Huhu. I told u you we were close. I also remember playing lompat getah in class and he played too. haha.. His last day at the scholl saw most of us cried buckets. Sedih not knowing when will we ever meet him again. We never did. Cikgu Azran, if you happen to read this (maner la tau kan)....We all *heart* you.

My Standard 5 class teacher was Puan Arpah. Garang. She once slapped a student in front of the whole class coz he marked his own buku latihan. Scary kan.

In Standard 6, my class teacher was En Zul Safaruddin. One funny chap who always crack jokes. I met him at the Post Office few years back. He did remember me. What I remember most of him was the day that he went to collect our UPSR results. My friends and I rushed when we saw him at the parking and he immediately extended his hand to me. I think he said "Tahniah" or something like that. :)

My highschool years were somehow vague...dunno why.

But I do remember my Form 3 Geography teacher, Hajah Abidah, who likes to make all of us stand in the class and she will ask questions base from what she has taught us. Sitting behind in the class makes is harder for her to see me angkat tangan wanting to answer her questions. So I end up sitting without answering any question and that explains why I got B for Geography.

I also remember my Form 3 class teacher Puan Faridah, who dislikes me coz I don't like to attend her class and always find excuses to masuk her class lambat hehe. She taught us Kemahiran Hidup (zzz..zzzz..zz). She always gave me this 'i-know-you-won't-be-successful' look that few months back I think I told my high school partner in crime friend Nana that I wish I could now find her and tell her who I am now (not that I'm so blarrddyy successful pun skang) but nevertheless jadi pun orang. Heh. But Nana said....tak yah la zai...yang lepas tu lepas la...hahaha....ok2 aku tk hold grudge dah. aku geram jer la :p

In Form 4 my class teacher was and Indian lady who is nice but certainly has no sense of fashion at all. Seriously. She would wear this knee length dress that looked like its been worn for ages. Greyish dull color and also with a red hairband and...and flat sandals. But she's nice.

Our Modern Maths teacher is a pretty chinese lady who likes to end her sentence with "Boleh?".

There was also this Counselling teacher who loves to do sportcheck and find students fault. I can't seem to remember her name.Yes. She's very garang. Rumors has it she's like that because she's not married yet even at the age. haha. You know la how stories like this can be so juicy especially in an all-girls school.

In Form 5, I remember our PE teacher Puan Zora, who is so petite and cute. A good dancer. In fact she taught us a couple of ballroom dances which I cannot remember at all now. But I do remember her saying the whole class are like kayu. Not graceful at all haha. Guess she was right.

Then there's Puan Ong (I think) who taught History. She was so committed in teaching the class that she made us underline important points in the textbook, that is after she asked permission from the Headmistress for us to do such. And thanks to her I got A1 for my History heh.

So there...do you have any stories about your teachers?

Detox ....Detox....Detox

Remember in one of my previous post I mentioned I wanted to detoxify my not-so-hot body? :p

Well I found this while surfing and thought I should share them with you. This is ways to help detoxify your body after you go through a detoxification program, which I have yet to do proper research.

But first how or when do you know your body needs to be detoxified? Some of the symptoms that we need to look out are
unexplained fatigue, sluggish elimination, irritated skin, allergies or low-grade infections; bags under the eyes; a distended stomach even if the rest of your body is thin; menstrual difficulties; or mental confusion ( I like this one....haha. I think I'm still far from that symptom...touch wood).

See any of those symptoms on you? No? Yes? Read on.

10 Ways to Help Your Body Detoxify

After a detoxification program, you can cleanse your body daily through diet, supplements and lifestyle practices.

1. Eat plenty of fiber, including brown rice and organically-grown fresh fruits and vegetables. Beets, radishes, artichokes, cabbage, broccoli, spirulina, chlorella, and seaweed are excellent detoxifying foods. - ok this one I think I can try

2. Cleanse and protect the liver by taking herbs such as dandelion root, burdock and milk thistle, and drinking green tea. - a visit to the local pharmacy will do

3. Take vitamin C, which helps the body produce glutathione, a liver compound that drives away toxins. - ok no problemo

4. Drink at least 2 quarts of water daily. - check

5. Breathe deeply to allow oxygen to circulate more completely through your system. - eerrr...check?

6. Transform stress by emphasizing positive emotions. - i'm trying...i'm trying ok

7. Practice hydrotherapy by taking a very hot shower for five minutes, allowing the water to run on your back. Follow with cold water for 30 seconds. Do this three times, and then get into bed for 30 minutes. - must try today

8. Sweat in a sauna so your body can eliminate wastes through perspiration. - eerrr....have to make appointment with Energy Spa soon? hehehe

9. Dry-brush your skin or try detoxifying patches or detox foot spas / foot baths to remove toxins through your pores. Special brushes are available at natural products stores. - need to do more survey on this

10. What is the most important way to detoxify? Exercise,Yoga or jump-roping are good. One hour every day. Also try qigong, a martial-arts based exercise system that includes exercises specifically for detoxifying or cleansing, as well as many other exercises with specific health benefits. - yoga? then I have to join the famous yoga instructor class I guess hehe. Oooo I do have the skipping rope at home. Shall start with that today!

You can read more here.

Now I need to do a little bit more study on the best detox program I should follow..modern method or traditional method. Fasting too is another method to detoxify your body (thanks Haris for pointing out). Shall get back to you soon okay. Now please excuse me, I need to 'detoxify' my tummy. Hehe. Toodles. ;)

Cleansing Your Body...

good,no?

I think I need to detoxify my body. It's so full of toxin thanks to all the raya food I've consumed and not forgetting all the coffee I've been drinking at the office and at home. Sigh. Oooo...don't leave out the nasi lemak for breakfast I have almost everyday on weekdays. Gosh. And I complaint to Hubby that I feel heavier.Heh!

Now...now..when should I start? How should I start? Is there anyone out there who wants to join me? Do let me know okay. Until then I'll just try to minimise my food in-take,okay?

Ciao lurve...

Another Zai's Random Thoughts...

after midnight i shall kidnap you
and i'll keep you in my room
hush now my love and hold my hand
after midnight i shall take
you to a place where no one else should know of
hush now my love and hold my hand
(yuna - after midnight)

I feel like rambling and ranting and babbling for no apparent reason today.

I'm happy but at the same time a bit disturbed and upset about something.

I'm happy I have resolved some issues with this one person that I really care about and plays an important role in my life.

I'm happy that I am about to embark on yet another new journey soon.

On a different note altogether, I was chatting with a good friend few days back. She was telling me about her work arrangement with her husband and then she said to me "Zai...money is not everything...but everything needs money" Haha...indeed she was right. You can say you don't need a lot of money but the cold hard fact is that everything around you requires money. Everything.

During raya my lil' SIL asked me "Akak...biler yang nombor dua???" Heh...soalan cepu emas tu dik oooiiii (cakap dalam hati jer la). I managed a smile though. Hubby has been teaching Haziq to call himself Abang. Ewah...ewahh...And i've been teaching Haziq to say "No" when people ask him nak adik tak. Haha...bad parents I know.

Can somebody please tell me the secret to being fit all the time. Here's the thing. I get tired easily la nowadays. No exercise is the main reason I think or is it age? My only exercise is the walk to Hubby's office everyday after work but since it rains most of the days lately I take the monorail. I play 'kejar-kejar' with Haziq, I make him jump with me in front of the TV everyday. Oooo..btw Haziq can now jump on one spot (thanks to me haha) though not so high la but its hilarious how he will stop whatever he was doing and concentrate to jump. Lawak. Been wanting to capture it on video. Nanti la. A lot of Haziq's antic have yet to be captured in video. Lazy. Aiyyoo... I wanted this entry to be about myself nothing else...tengok...ada gak terselit citer si bam bam... :p

I have yet the time to explore my D80. Sigh. I would say till today I've only used about 30% of the application. Yes. A lot more to learn and explore. Been reading the digital photography school online and picked up few tips but again have yet to apply them. Heh! Ape ni. Im hoping my outing trip this weekend will materialise (fingers and toes crossed!) then I can snap snap...all day long.

My hands are itching to do some online shopping but so far I have managed to refrain myself. Nothing grand item in particular but still itching. Haha.

I'm still hoping that one of these days this baby will be mine. It's a Mitsubishi Lancer GTS 2008.

But If I can't have her I will be happy as well if I can drive her-number-two
.
Honda Civic 1.8 with the exact color.

However, if we (read: hubby and I ) decide to have a big family then we'll need prolly this.

Though I personally like the previous model which I feel is more spacious and looks more like an MPV. Oo well...it doesn't hurt to dream right, so I'm gonna continue dreaming hehe.

Ok what else...I guess that wraps up my rambling for the day. Again today I would like remind my stubborn self don't always look-up but always look-down. Then I will always be grateful with what I have. Iiissshhh...Why do I always tend to forget this?? :(

Hero's Welcome After Somalia Mission?

Read more about it here.

Actually that's not why I am writing this entry. The main reason is the amphibious assault vessel KD Sri Inderapura used to escort the two MISC tankers back safely. Kd Sri Inderapura was badly burnt down few years back. The whole superstructure had to be rebuilt. I was working for P***D back in 2004 in Lumut when my ex-boss assigned me to join the design team.
So when I saw the vessel on TV last night, I couldn't help but felt a tiny bit of proud that I was part of the big team that helped rebuilt the vessel. It was a valuable experience having to deal with RMN (Royal Malaysian Navy), the fabricators . It was not easy I must say but it was altoghether fun and I know I can never get that kind of experience else where. The design team was superb, the travelling up and down to Penang every week was unforgettable and the knowledge I gained from the project was somehow what got me where I am today. Heh. (very sentimental la plak kan).
Too bad I was not there when it was delivered to the client because I left the Co and joined M**C. But fate somehow acts in a funny way. I was in Pasir Gudang attached to another project in M**E when the vessel was brought in for a shiplift. Heh. I 'met' the huge vessel again, only I regret I didn't try to ask permission to go onboard. Malas nak jumpe the MEO (Marine Engineering Officer)...so kerek one...huhu. And today the vessel bravely cuts through the sea and escort the two tankers back home safely. :)

Yippie....

I finally got my hands on Yuna's EP cd. Heh. I missed the launching but fortunately my best buddy Loth went and she managed to get it for me. Thanks dear muaaahhh...Don't you think the cover is very artistic? Nice huh....

In it there are 5 songs altogether : Backpacking around Europe, After Midnight, Dan Sebenarnya, Blue Sands and Deeper Conversation. My personal fav, Rocket is not in this cd uhuukk..guess I have to continue listening at her myspace.

Ooooo...if you're wondering who I'm talking about.....check-out here to listen to Yuna. A talented indie artist with a lovely voice and a huge talent in song writing. Seriously. I'm not really a fan of the local singing industry but this girl...she's something.

Ok now...I wanna listen to Yuna peeps....toodles :)

The 20 Months Old Toddler

Yup...Haziq Danial is 20 months old yesterday. (and I have no idea what to blog about this boy...eerrk)

Let's see....I'm done tracking all the new words he has acquired. Tk ter'track'. Basically he can now put two words together but only when he wants to. The other day he shocked me by saying "Maner Ayah?". Last night he said "Big lorry" pointing to a big lorry on the road.

Two nights ago, I was so sleepy that I decided to lay down in our room for awhile, while Hubby look after Haziq. I heard Hubby's voice saying to Haziq, "Gi tunjuk kat Ibu". Then Haziq came into the room, "Ibu....Ibu.." while showing his bagpack on his back. Alamak...cair ok dengar Haziq panggil Ibu clearly. adduuhhhh...He can also pronounce GrandMa clearly now...my Mom was so happy during Raya when Haziq went into the kitchen and called out "GrandMa" ;)

Cair gak whenever I come out from our room to find Haziq playing his Ayah...when he turn to look at me and say "Hi"...mak aaaiii....such a charmer la anak saya ini uhukk.

He was down with fever, cough and flu last week. Giving his medicine is not easy I tell ya. When he sees me with the syringe, he already started to runaway. The moment Hubby grabs him and hold him Haziq is already screaming "No...no...pishhh (please)...no..."haha...sorry baby...we cannot tolerate something that is for your own good ok.

Haziq loves the U*obile advert...you know..the one with the girl who wants to do henna on one finger only (Haziq will scream "why????!!! siap ngn kerut dahi sekali)...yeah that one...and the teh tarik setengah gelas ad. haha..To be honest...I too love both ads. :p

Other than that, Haziq still babbles in his own language. He loves to run to me and hug my feet. Don't ask me why.

He adores his Ayah...I can tell it by the way he calls out Hubby. So manja like that. You know...when I first got back from Norway, I couldn't help but felt a bit tad jealous seeing Haziq so close with Hubby. Not that I'm blaming anyone but ooo was I so miserable whenever I point a picture of the three of us, the first name Haziq will call out is Ayah...repeatingly saying it. Pointing to myself in the picture did not help at all. But now....phheeewwww....Haziq calls out my name too :)

When sometimes I don't understand what he is trying to tell me Haziq can be really frustrated. Poor baby. He resort by taking my hand and make him follow him so that he can show what he wants.

When it's just the two of at home, we would dance to any catchy song played on TV. It's hilarious seeing him trying to follow exactly all my moves (not that I'm a good dancer anyway haha). It's fun and it's a good exercise for Ibu here who last exercise or play squach 2 years back. Sigh. Stamina = 0 la weeeiiii..

Haziq is only fascinated with lorries and buses. They're both the same to him. As for now I let him be. Hehe.

Haziq loves to snack on cornflakes, raisins and babybiscuits. He loves to drink Yakult which he calls it "kut". Even after I dah sorok the Yakult somewhere in the fridge he can still find it. Aiyyyooo....he seems to know where to find things in there. Nak jadi tukang masak ape anak saya ini hehe. Takpe la...hopefully when he's a bit bigger I'll let him help me clean the fridge (a task that I dislike soooo much) haha.

Haziq can sometimes be very laid back and sometimes he can be a bit aggressive depending on the situation. Like last night, we went to SIL's open house in Putrajaya. It's been awhile since Haziq last met his cousin Iman. They were playing together outside the house when suddenly Iman started to come near Haziq and started to 'pukul' Haziq on the face. At first Haziq drew back and did not do anything but after a few more 'pukul', Haziq started to return the favor. Heh...I was watching this closely (so did SIL) and let it be for awhile before I pulled Haziq back. Okay...not that I am encouraging him to pukul orang but I wanted him to learn to defend himself. Of course after that I had to explain to him that it's wrong to do such eventhough it was not him who started it.

Ok enough la for today. I need to do few things now. Toddles.

Hey...what is this I read Shah Rukh Khan has been given the title Dato'....OMG...our country is full of jokers la ;p

REMINDER to myself!

I got this in the mail this morning. Thot I should post it here as a reminder to myself and just to share with all. ;)

Demikian juga halnya ketika junjungan besar Nabi Muhammad s. a. w. mikraj kelangit.

Sebaliknya, isteri patut bersyukur kerana berpeluang meraih keredhaan Allah.

Jadi sudi apalah kiranya sang suami bersama-sama meringankan tugas si isteri seadanya.

Bagi kaum wanita & lelaki yg sudah berumah-tangga, marilah kitasama-sama belajar saling tolong-menolong meringankan beban pasangan kita.

Semoga kisah tadi membawa menfaat bagi kita semua... insya'Allah..

SIKAP ISTERI tidak menghormati SUAMI adalah GEJALA SOSIAL MUSLIM sekarang. Ia dilakukan kerana berfikir bahawa SUAMI mesti buat seperti ISTERI dalam RUMAHTANGGA.

TABIAT-ISTERI suka meleteri suami dan TABIAT-SUAMI yang suka meletakkan semua tanggungjawab rumahtangga ke atas bahu isteri semata-mata; mestilah dihentikan, demi mendidik MENTAL ZURIAT kita ke suatu BUDAYA IBADAT.

p/s: note to myself - Nauzubillah.....jgn ler I become like one of those Ameen.

Norge vs Mesia

I went to see my Boss just now to get his signature for my time sheet and yesterday's EL.

Boss : Emergency leave???Is everything alright???
Me: ooo..it's my son..he has cough and flu...bla...bla...
Boss : Oooo..my son has eye infection....bla...bla...

ok..my point is...he asked is everything alright? Pardon me for comparing but I don't get that when I was working for our own national company. When you take leave especially EL people start to question without finding out first the reason. Heh...ape la...Don't have better things to do is it???!!!!

Salam Aidilfitri

Hope it's not too late to wish everyone Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Maaf Zahir Batin from the three of us. We had a great time and hope all of you did too.

The aftermath of Raya, Haziq and Hubby is down with fever, cough and flu. Sigh. It's all up to Ibu here to be the Supermommy and Superwifey to take care of the household and its occupants of course hehe.

Take care peeps. Toodles.

Stay Away...

from me and my family will ya....sheeessshhh....
